123 Reg: keep the keys with the business

Many UK businesses bought their .co.uk at 123 Reg years ago, often through whoever built the first website.

Every step below is from 123 Reg’s own help pages, checked on 6th October 2026. Screens change: if a step doesn’t match what you see, the linked page is the one to trust. Nothing here needs you to share a password.

Turn on 2-step verification

In your register this is field N.6 of the 123 Reg account.

  1. Set up at least one verification method first, such as an authenticator app.
  2. Go to the Login & Security page.
  3. Under Enhanced Security, switch the 2-Step Verification toggle on.

Sign in with a business address

In your register this is field N.5 of the 123 Reg account.

  1. Go to the My Profile page and select the email address.
  2. Change it to the business address, then select Send Verification Code.
  3. Enter the code sent to the new address.

This doesn’t change the domain’s registrant details.

Move the domain into the business’s own account

In your register this is field N.3 of the 123 Reg account.

  1. In the Domain Portfolio, select the domain to open its Domain Settings.
  2. Under Transfer, select Transfer to another 123 Reg account.
  3. Enter the business’s account email twice, choose whether to copy the contact details, then select Send Transfer Request.
  4. The business accepts it from the email within 10 days.

DNS settings move with the domain; a website or email product doesn’t.
